GIVING CARE TO THE CAREGIVER: SIX 1-HOUR GROUP CLASSES

Do you have a spouse, partner, parent, child, sibling, or close friend living with chronic pain or other chronic symptoms?

Join a 6-week support group providing a safe place to engage with other caregivers who know what you are going through.

Being a caregiver can be an emotional roller coaster. This group serves as an outlet to process normal frustrations, anger, and sadness, and to find support. You will learn positive communication skills and tools to express your emotions in a healthy way, so that you can take care of yourself, too, especially when complex relationships, family dynamics, and health stressors are at play.

Hans Sieber, LPC, and Danielle Adams O’Malley, LCSW, are here to support you in topics including:

  • How to bring up the idea of neuroplastic pain and PRT to a loved one struggling with chronic symptoms.
  • How PRT helps someone who has structural pain.
  • What to do when a loved one is in a depressed or anxious state.
  • How to take care of yourself as the caregiver.
  • How to find a balance between accommodating pain and encouraging change.
  • What to do when the negative feelings associated with living with chronic pain are taken out on the caregiver.
  • How to ask about a loved one’s progress without upsetting them.
  • How to navigate isolation, resentment, and guilt.
  • And so much more!
